Written in-house and owned by us, Merlin are able to make changes to the software to suit your needs, and offer you the solution that best fits your needs. We offer 2 new releases every year which is available to all customers and offers the latest developments and fixes that have occurred over the year. We also offer a bespoke development option, writing bespoke changes to our software for your business.
We are not a reseller. We provide constant support and training for our clients. It is our aim to add value above and beyond that of our customers.

With over 40 years of business under our belt Merlin have seen some dramatic changes to the business landscape, we’ve passed on our experiences to the customer to help them grow and succeed.
1974
Merlin Business Software, under its original guise was founded (that’s one year older than Microsoft).
That’s one year older than Microsoft.
Merlin was originally a punch card bureau service.
Prior to software being its main focus.
1980
Merlin began selling software.
Originally a reseller, Merlin entered the business software market.
1995
Merlin developed and launched its own original piece of software – Dataflex
Merlin also launched its first range of handheld applications.
2002
Merlin moved into its current Head Office
Remaining in Chesterfield, Merlin relocated into its purpose built head office.
2007
Merlin Windows was released
As a replacement for Dataflex, Merlin launched its current leading ERP software, Merlin Windows.
2012
The company was rebranded from Chatsworth Computers to Merlin Business Software Ltd.
Due to the growing popularity of Merlin Windows, the company was rebranded to fall in-line with the strong brand that Merlin represented.
2017
Cloud hosted offering made available
Merlin became available as an AWS hosted option
